The Long Awaited Journey

Our corner of creation – the morning we left.

We leave Wales today.

We pray the Lord will bless our journey.

Each day the tide rolls by our house, and fills the land with an unbelievable amount of water, surging in from the Sea and out again. Thousands of tonnes of water, quietly travelling in and out, never too much or too little. Changing the landscape and habitat twice daily, moving mud, rocks, shells, crabs, jelly fish, fish and debris on an infinite, enourmous scale with tremendous force. Perfectly timed, and executed each and every day, never tiring or forgetting. The incredible cycle of nature working every second of the day. And sometimes I forget to look but it still happens, God never stops working. He sustains every part of creation and never tires. Never a day off or a lunch break, just quietly behind the scenes He keeps the world turning and waters rolling. The birds eat, the fish abound and the tides come and go, the sun rises every day and the moon lights our nights. He never forgets us – although we forget Him. That is Who He is. He creates and then….He waits, for us to notice. Forget all the preconception you have of a bearded man in the sky and just look at creation all around, it is immense, unexplainable, awesome! So, so much more than just a man.

‘For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything He created they can clearly see His invisible qualities – His eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.’ (Romans 1:20)

I know He goes with us, wherever we go.

Amen
